Often people choose to look at themselves with incredible amounts of self-hate and defilement. These people think in ways that ruin their life. This type of thinking and self-torture has a chemical component to it. When we think thoughts that are self-hateful, you pour self-hate chemicals into your body and your body hears every word you say. Your mental performance becomes sluggish because of this chemical poison you just exposed yourself to. Your drive, happiness and enthusiasm for life dissolve with this type of thinking habit and your attitude becomes depressed.
The confusing part of this thinking habit is that it does not make what you are telling yourself true. It just helps create the experience of feeling like crap about yourself. It's not even real because you are not your thoughts. It does not make it beneficial to your life to look at yourself in this manner. Even if you have hurt another, self punishment is never a way to forgiveness. It is futile and accomplishes nothing.
In the science of results oriented thinking, we learn the technique of self-command. When we put self-command to practice we learn that thoughts are tools and not who we are. We learn that thoughts create reality. We learn that you can create another reality any time you want. You decide what you would like to experience and you then think in ways that create that experience in your life.
For example let's look at Arnold Schwarzenegger. In his life he has created several experiences, one as a body builder, an author, a movie actor and now a governor. This is a person who, I believe, has a lot of self-command and uses his thinking and thoughts to create the experiences that he would like to have in his life. In the science of results oriented thinking we learn that we are perfect and that our thinking maybe something that we learn to use as a tool and not believe that we are what we think. We learn that we manifest what we think, but it is not who we are, just something that we are experiencing in the moment.
Could you imagine if Arnold said to him self that he was only a body builder? If he only believed that he was what he was experiencing in that moment he could never aspire to anything else could he? That's the same for you too, if you only tell yourself hateful statements and believe that is who you are instead of what you are saying to yourself, then you can never aspire to anything else. You are not the self-hating statements that you make. You simply are feeling the affects of your thinking style.
